I don't think I can emphasize this enough, we LOVE Despicable Me in this house!! There is truly something for everyone. My littles love the minions, my daughter loves the three girls, and my husband and I love Gru. It's the perfect family movie.

Despicable Me follows the story of longtime supervillain Gru, his assistant Dr. Nefario and his Minions, as they hatch a plan to shrink and steal the Moon. In order to fund the evil scheme, Gru applies for a loan from Mr. Perkins, the director of the Bank of Evil. Gru meets Perkins's son, Vector, a budding supervillain who was responsible for a Pyramid heist, and steals the shrink ray from Vector's home only for Vector to intercept them and obtain it for himself.

Gru eventually manages to steal back the ray and forms an unexpected bond with three girls who live in an orphanage. He originally adopts them to use them to distract Vector, but little does Gru know, the girls start to break down his evil walls and he starts to really care for them.

Though the Bank of Evil refuses the loan, the Minions pool their resources to raise the funds and Gru pulls off the plan, shrinking and stealing the Moon. Vector retaliates by kidnapping the girls, prompting Gru to launch an attack on Vector's fortress to reclaim them. After rescuing the girls, Gru returns the Moon to its original size, with Vector stranded on it.

In the end, Gru regains custody of the girls and realizes that becoming a Father is more rewarding than any evil heist!
