Underwater Swimsuit Color Test

The swimsuit color graphic by ALIVE Solutions Inc. has been circulating for the past year. I decided to see for myself what the different colors really look like in 2.5 feet of water.

I've seen this graphic (created by Alive Solutions Inc) circulating for the past year. It actually stopped me in my tracks because I had never thought about what color bathing suit I was putting my kids in. I always just got character bathing suits I knew they would like.

After seeing this graphic, and performing this test in 2 and a half feet of water, I am a firm believer in neon suits!

The Test: I collected a variety of the colors the Alive Solutions Inc graphic showcased and I submerged each piece under the water. I then added light movement on the top of the water to show how the bathing suit would look within an active pool.

Results: To no surprise, the neon colors were the most visible. The neon orange, neon pink, and neon yellow were the front runners. The middle group consisted of the darker colors- including black, purple, and red. The colors that became hard to see were the blue colors (light, royal, and dark blue) as well as the light colors (white and gray).

This little experiment has taught me to be more purposeful about what color bathing suit I'm going to put my kids in. I do my absolute best to be vigilant and have my head on a swivel watching all 4 of my kids as we are at the swimming pool, but knowing that I could help myself even the slightest by dressing the kids in neon colors, gives me a little piece of mind that it's an extra level of protection!
